An on-site program for training needs to be selected first and foremost. Prospective students can look in to this matter by perusing a college’s curriculum online. A quality on-site program is a collaborative weekly group event that is part and parcel of the selected recording engineering learning program. Most recording engineer classes are live events. And there will be one on one weekly sessions with the designated tutor.
The one on one weekly sessions are necessary. These allow you and your teacher to focus on your achieved skill level. You will also have a further two hours a week in a recording studio. And then there is the requirement to spend no less than eight hours each week in the school’s laboratory. So, along with your theory, there is lots of practical training ahead. Perhaps you knew this already. Or perhaps you were looking forward to this.
Who wouldn’t. You are being given numerous opportunities to use the recording studio as though you were in a live sound recording environment. How exciting is that? You will be given opportunities to take part in or assist with real time studio recording sessions and live recording events. Customized real world projects are prepared for you. This allows you to be part of simulations.
And later on, you will be able to determine just how all your progress fits in with your long-term career goals, what areas still need to be worked on, what gifts you have that need to be fertilized. Special guest lectures and workshops are going to be organized as well. And that’s quite exciting too. What are the odds of your favorite star showing up one fine morning? Okay, so that’s a pipe dream.
But it doesn’t hurt.
